Rewards can either be something a customer works toward or a pleasant surprise. Offer free shipping for orders over a certain amount or send a free gift with a purchase. If you have a points system, you should make it easy to redeem. Their profile in your POS includes up-to-date information about their available rewards and customer status. Also, include an expiration date so that your customers are encouraged to make a purchase before the deadline.
Offer Discounts
With the latest analytics technology, retailers can provide customers with discounts on products they purchase regularly or products that complement prior purchases. Offering an exclusive discount is a great way to retain key segments of your customer base such as college students, veterans, or senior citizens. Discounts can also get people to buy from you during typically slow times. Customers knowing that they can get a better deal on a certain day will help you create a loyal customer base.

Step away from your business for a short period to recharge and don’t feel guilty. Nothing is more important than your health. Nothing. Whether it’s a day off, a weekend retreat, or a two week vacation, giving yourself time to rest and rejuvenate is crucial for recovering from burnout. Better to rest now than find yourself bed ridden from exhaustion and health issues due to overworking.
Set Boundaries
It is so important, in order to avoid burnout, to establish clear boundaries between work and personal life. Avoid overworking and prioritize self-care. Learn to say no to additional commitments that could exacerbate burnout. It is easy to say yes to things and crazy deadlines because it just has to be done, but if everything is urgent, nothing is. Set priorities and boundaries around your work and your life.

It is important for each team member to know their exact responsibilities so there’s no overlap. If multiple employees are working on the same task due to miscommunication, invaluable time and efforts are wasted. Each individual should have responsibility in reaching team goals as well as the tools and mutual support to obtain good results. Setting clear goals for each team member will help keep people aligned on their assigned tasks and responsibilities.
Trusting your team members with making their own decisions is important in building trust and improving teamwork. Oftentimes, if people don’t have the autonomy and power to make decisions regarding their own work, they will begin to resent their work, thus hindering the work of the entire team. In order to keep team members engaged and working hard, it’s important to provide all members with the freedom to make their own decisions.
It’s difficult to work productively with people you don’t trust. Trust can flourish by simple as participating in simple team-building activities, or eating lunch together. Not only will this build trust, but it will also likely increase employee morale and job satisfaction – work is more enjoyable when you enjoy the people you work with. Communication is key! Though this sounds like basic knowledge, it’s often looked over. Clear and frequent communication will ensure everyone is on the same page, leading to more accurate work being completed faster. Strong communication also helps to build trust, thus improving the overall performance of the team.
